Where ancestral traditions meet an evidence-based approach
Why hire a doula?
Evidence shows that having continuous support from a doula leads to shorter labors, fewer interventions (like epidurals and cesareans), and higher satisfaction with birth overall. Doulas provide emotional, physical, and informational support tailored to you and your family- helping you feel confident, informed, and cared for every step of the way. Whether it’s navigating decisions, offering comfort measures, or supporting your partner, a doula ensures you’re never alone in the process.
Meet Your Doula
Elly is a proud mother of three, a native Spanish speaker, and has a bachelor’s in health science. She holds a Full-Spectrum Doula certification through Bebo Mia and a Birth Doula certification with Birth and Baby University. She is also a certified lactation consultant, CPR certified, Spinning Babies trained, and an Evidence-Based Birth® Professional.
With hundreds of hours of prenatal, birth, and postpartum support, Elly has walked alongside countless families throughout the Chicagoland area. Her experience spans a wide variety of birth settings and situations—including unmedicated home births, planned cesareans, VBACs, inductions, high-risk pregnancies, advanced maternal age, and families welcoming their first baby or their third. She frequently attends births at Prentice, Evanston, Rush, Hinsdale, the Birth Center of Chicago, Masonic, and many other area hospitals.
Elly’s heart is to meet each family exactly where they are, offering personalized resources, thoughtful guidance, and steady support through every ebb and flow of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. She brings warmth, compassion, and evidence-based care to every family she serves.
When she’s not at a birth or educating families during prenatal visits, Elly loves spending time with her husband and three children. You can often find her outdoors, visiting her local farmers market on a Sunday morning, kayaking on a sunny day with her husband, or enjoying the sound of her kids laughing and playing in the yard. She also loves discovering new local coffee spots and baking up something sweet in the kitchen.
Honoring the ways birth has always been supported, while providing the knowledge and tools you need today.
From the moment you hire me, you’ll feel supported in a way that honors time-tested traditions while keeping you informed with today’s best research. You’ll have my call and text support whenever questions come up, along with weekly check-ins to help you feel confident and cared for as you prepare for birth. I’ll share resources and handouts tailored to you—like natural comfort techniques, partner support tips, and evidence-based information about your options—so you can approach birth with both wisdom and knowledge.
At our prenatal visit, we’ll talk through your hopes and preferences, practice hands-on comfort measures, and discuss ways to make birth feel intentional and empowering for you and your partner.
When it’s time to welcome your baby, I’ll be by your side providing continuous support—using tools like massage, position changes, and breathing techniques that have been used for generations, while also helping you navigate your options based on current best practices.
After birth, I’ll visit to support feeding, recovery, and the early transition into parenthood. Six weeks later, I’ll check in again for a mental health touchpoint—because healing and adjustment take time, and you deserve continued care long after birth.
This is care that bridges the old and the new—trusting in your body’s wisdom while staying grounded in evidence-based support. I’d be honored to walk this journey with you.

If you are looking for a doula, look no further, Elly is amazing! She is so knowledgeable. As a first time mom, I had so many questions and she always had the answers. She provided me with the best support, not only while I was in labor but throughout my pregnancy and postpartum as well. I had a last minute diagnosis of choleostasis which led to an induction. I was upset and so anxious, but Elly was there to advocate for me and help me feel like I was still in control. When I had trouble breastfeeding, she helped me more than the lactation consultants and baby’s pediatrician could. I can’t imagine going through it all without her and can’t stress enough how grateful I am that she was there for me every step of the way. Having Elly as my doula was the best decision I made. Highly recommend!!

I’m a IVF mom, and it is the most trying times of your life. Not having control over your body, anxiety all of the time, and thinking once you get pregnant you can finally breathe. But then pregnancy comes and you’re anxious all over again. My goal was to find support to answer all of my questions no matter how small or big, to be there to comfort me when needed, reassurance, trust, and love. That’s Elly 🩵 She is an extremely understanding and supportive person who advocates for you when you feel you don’t have a voice. She sits down and comes up with a birth plans with you to what you are comfortable with and gives advice all along the way (no matter what time of night because I will text her all of the time with questions). She was also there for me postpartum when I was experiencing post preeclampsia which was really scary. I thought our relationship would end once I gave birth, but still till this day she’s always right there to answer questions and be a supportive role in me and my son’s life. I highly recommend her if you’re looking for that personal advocate, consistent communicator, listener, and friend 🩵

Elly was an absolutely integral part of my successful natural VBAC labor and delivery. Through active labor, she suggested movement patterns and positions that were not only helpful for pain management but also helped improve the baby’s position and descent. She explained everything and always offered it in a helpful way rather than being pushy or demanding. I felt like she anticipated many of my needs and wants during labor before I even needed to ask. I also really appreciated the amount of involvement she encouraged from my partner. He really wanted to be supportive and the tactics that Elly provided allowed him to be so much more purposeful and helpful. Overall, Elly was truly supportive of my birth plan and did everything she could to ensure it became a reality. I would recommend her to absolutely anyone looking for a positive, empowered birthing experience, but in particular I would highly recommend her to mamas who want to go natural!

I attned births all over the Chicagoland area. I frequently attend births at Prentice, Evanston, Rush, Lake Forst NWM, Masonic, Hinsdale, Lutheran General, Condell, St Alexius, Elmhurst and many more with new hospitals added to the list regularly.
Do you work with a backup doula?

Do you offer payment plans?
I do! I believe that this support should be accesible. I am more than open to finding a plan that makes access to this support feasible. I am also open to bartering.
